About Us
The word “Cahaya” in Malay means energy, light, radiance. We envision a resort where guests escape the noisy hectic pace of daily life and enjoy the energy and light of nature — waterfalls, ocean waves, and birds singing.
Our resort is actually situated on the lower portion of the legendary Asah Waterfall — with natural waterfall pools flowing right through our resort grounds. No boat trip, no hiking required; the waterfall is on your doorstep.
We love families! Cahaya Asah is a family owned and operated resort which began development in 2022 with the acquisition of our beautiful oceanfront land on the South China Sea.
Our dedicated and capable staff is ready to deliver you a high quality and memorable experience in Tioman Island Malaysia.

Cahaya Asah Resort sits on the south coast of Tioman Island, in the peaceful village of Kampung Asah. The journey is part of the adventure — here's how to reach us.
Step 01
By Road
Drive to the Terminal
Head to Mersing (Johor) or Tanjung Gemok (Pahang) ferry terminal. Both are approximately 3–4 hours from Kuala Lumpur, or ~2 hours from Johor Bahru, by car or express bus.

Step 02
By Sea
Ferry to Tioman
Board the public or chartered ferry to Tioman Island. Direct services to Kampung Asah are available with Juara Mutiara Ferry, or transfer at Genting. Journey takes approximately 1.5–2 hours.

Kampung Asah
Arrive at the Resort
Step off at the Kampung Asah jetty and walk straight to Cahaya Asah Resort — we are right on the waterfront. No cars, no traffic. Just sea breeze, jungle, and our team waiting to welcome you.
